A crisscross of canals, cobbled alleyways, classic mansions, arched bridges and medieval buildings, Delft is one of Hollands best preserved towns. Delft is an historic Dutch town which history dates back to the 12th century. The picturesque historic center of Delft lies near the lovely Oude Delft Canal. Delft is known for its lively atmosphere in the historical center, with many interesting shops, galleries and colorful markets for every taste.

For those of you who are interested in watching movies, you may be interested to know that the film Girl with a Pearl Earring (released January 2004 to May 2004 depending on your location is set in and was filmed in Delft.
Delft is also world renown for the local pottery, better known as Delftware. It is particularly known for the Delft blue earthenware.
