I am an assistant professor in the Software Engineering Research Group, Department of Software Technology of the Delft University of Technology. Previous to that I have been a post-doc and senior research associate in the Software Engineering Group at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. I received my Doctoral Degree in June, 2005 from the Vienna University of Technology, Austria. I am a member of ACM, IEEE, and SI.

Research Interests

My research interests are in software engineering with focus on:

Software Design and Quality Analysis My activities in this research area concern methodologies and techniques to mine the data in software repositories for detecting shortcomings in the implementation, design, and evolution of large, complex software systems. Another aspect concerns the analysis of the collaboration and communication structure of engineers in software projects and its effect on software quality. Recent results have been published in a paper at FSE 2009 of which you can download a copy from the ACM digital library.

Software Visualization In this research area I investigate visualization and navigation techniques to quickly and succinctly answer questions during program comprehension tasks. For more information check out our papers on Kiviat graph visualization and dependency analysis for Java.

If you are interested in doing a Masters Thesis in one of these areas do not hesitate do contact me.

Welcome to Delft. I have started my new job as assistant professor in the software engineering research group at TU Delft.

Our paper "Change Analysis with Evolizer and ChangeDistiller" has been accepted for publication in the special issue on Mining Software Archives of IEEE Software January/February 2009.
